We, at Untamed Burden, believe that each individual needs salvation from our sins. We believe that God made a way for our salvation through Jesus. Below, you’ll find a set of scriptures from the book of Romans that Christians use to present a clear and simple case for personal salvation for each person. It is a simple yet powerful method of explaining why we need salvation, how God provided salvation, how we can receive salvation, and the results of salvation. These passages are from the New International Version (NIV). Let's take a walk through Romans:
Scripture | What it means |
Ro 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, | Everyone has sinned and is separated from God. Even “good” people are lost without Jesus. |
Ro 5:8 God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. | God loves each of us even though we sin against Him. He loves us so much that he sent His Son, Jesus who died for us. (See John 3:16) |
Ro 6:23 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. | Although living apart from God may be fun for a while, without God, we will certainly die a permanent spiritual death. But God offers eternal life through Jesus. |
Ro 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Ro 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. | How do you get saved? This is the most important part of our site: Make Jesus the Lord of your life. Believe in Him with all your heart. |
Ro 10:13 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. | No matter who you are or what you’ve done, if you call on Jesus, He will answer. |
The table above (a.k.a. The Romans Road) shows you the path – are you ready to accept God’s gift of Salvation now? If so, believe in what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross, repent of your sins, and commit the rest of your life to Him.
This is not a ritual; it is a prayerful guide for your honest step of faith.
Take that next step by praying a prayer like this one:
“God, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. With your help, I place my trust in You for salvation. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was raised from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
If you decided to receive Jesus today, welcome to God's family. Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.
- Get baptized as commanded by Christ.
- Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.
- Spend time with God each day. Develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
- Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
- Find a local church where you can worship and serve God.
